I know how you feel.  I've had that "nesting" syndrome all weekend, making sure my kids will be set while I'm in the hospital! lol  Good luck to  you!

Thanks for the replies. Mines supposed to be lap, but your never know for sure. As far as the pre-op diet. two weeks of protein shakes and vitamins. Three days of liquids (uck.)  Dr. Davis is a trip. I first met him over twenty years ago. He saved the life of a good friend and co-worker. He removed my Gall balder. At that time Dr. Davis's hair was red and curly. His South African accent has gotten better since then.  I really trust his skills, and he is one of the most caring Doc's I know. I feel lucky to have him to do the surgery. I am not a very trusting guy.

OMG!!  What a bunch of LOSERS!!!  LOL  Doesn't that sound good though?  Who'd a thunk we'd all like to be called a loser!!??!!  It is so great reading about all your recovery stories.  I'll be posting mine here soon too.  Nov. 19th is just around the corner and I can hardly wait!!  Monday I am packing my bag for the hospital.  I have to drive 3 1/2 hours to get to the hospital....or I should say, my husband has to drive....I'm glad he's coming with me.  My Surgeon told me to expect to stay 4 days.  I am having Lap RNY.  I'm alot older than you gals though.  I'll be 66 (11/15/42) and what a wonderful Birthday Present.

Love & Hugs to you all,

Sandy

they gave me hepparin (sp?) while I was in the hospital to thin my blood, but not since I've been home. YEP... lots of bruises. I'm an easier bruiser as well. My whole body looks like it's been in a fight. LOL

Lisa,

I totally understand about the nerves.  On my trip down to Portland (about a 3+ hour drive) I was so nervous the day before that I had to stop visit a tree about every 10 to 20 miles.  You will do fine.  The hardest part is the IV.  The 25th will be here before you know it.  Good luck and God Bless.

The week long help will be well worth anything you can say or do.  Tell your best friend you might not say the nicest of things at times, but if they overlook that, then piece of....well, water.  Drink water. Good luck and keep me posted on your pre and post surgery.
